Residential Development – New build

New Build House and basement

The brief for this project was to demolish the existing construction and replace it for a new build with a basement to occupy the same footprint of the house above.
The challenge was to integrate all the spaces including the garden to the narrow rear garden.

We created a house that follows the main lines of the uniform Edwardian road but on a contemporary approach with the use of Modern Methods of Construction.
The house is practically Zero Carbon and relies of a combination or Air source heat pump and heat exchangers powered by solar panels.
The fabric of the building is extremely efficient from the thermal and acoustic point of view.
We integrated bird and bat nests within the fabric of the building to contribute with the biodiversity of the local area and Richmond Park.
The use of off site construction methods accelerates the construction times and the overall project programme.

The house follows the lines of the original Edwardian semi-detached houses and the windows and roofline match the older housing stock, paying tribute to the heritage of the street but proudly following modernist principals.
